Can Ideologues Like Obama And Pelosi Ever Change Direction?

Can an ideologue ever change his or her stripes?

We received very strong evidence in the last 48 hours that Obama will do his damnedest to force his Marxist agenda on the US even if it means losing in 2012.

He did say that he’d “prefer to be a great one termer than a mediocre two termer!”.

After the best or worst results, depending on your viewpoint, for around seventy years were tallied, Obama was asked if his policies had been wrong, and he answered, "No".

And today the political headlines are that Nancy Pelosi may stay on as House Democratic leader!

Pelosi is held responsible by almost the whole of the heartlands for America’s worse than dire straits, and she might get kept on as House Democratic Leader?!

Imagine that insanity!

It seems to me that ideologues construct an internal system of ideas that is buttressed and bulwarked in such a way that it prevents them from any form of flexing or bending, and they go through life like an ice-breaker ship, trying to ram their way through a naturally hostile environment.

And because they only allow themselves to see what they wish to see, they see only a narrow channel but believe it be the whole ocean.

Ideologues are always confident and sure of themselves and claim to be in complete possession of THE truth, and they use the language of reality and truth just as if they possessed them.

One of the surest signs that a person is an ideologue is his or her unwillingness to consider anything beyond their narrow path as being part of the actual world, and if a person treats you with contempt and believes that you’re either uninformed or somewhat stupid because you don’t agree with them, then you can be sure that you’re dealing with an ideologue.

Obama displayed the above just a few days before the elections:

"Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now and facts and science and argument does not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we’re hardwired not to always think clearly when we’re scared".

He also faulted the economic downturn for Americans because of their, "inability to think clearly", and said the burden is on Democrats,"to break through the fear and the frustration people are feeling".

And the above was very dumb (or blinkered) and it went a long way to costing him the midturns in such a catastrophic way!

So Obama is clearly blinkered and unable to see reality :-(

My questions are:

Is it possible to get an ideologue to change course?

And if so, then how?

Hey, I like the image! Kind of what’s on your mind? And it’s Karl Marx.

The bottom line is that nobody will ever change another person’s mind unless the listener has already decided that what they believe might be incorrect.

No pushing or prodding will help unless the readiness for change is there.

And that to mind my doesn’t just refer to ideologues, but to everybody.

    I once read:

“The greatest barrier to learning, is that we think we already know”.

    And ain’t that the truth!

Well, Obama did say that he’s “not an ideologue”.

But just watch the video clip!

And then tell me that you believe even one word he’s saying!
