As of now, each state in the U.S. has the right to decide whether or not prostitution is legal in that state and in which part of that state, but it is illegal in every state with the exception of Nevada, and even there it is forbidden in many parts of the state.
Prostitution has existed for time immemorial and making it illegal won’t prevent it.
It’s legal in many first world countries, and prostitutes pay taxes and feel much safer.
I imagine that many Christians would object to legalizing prostitution but Jesus said things such as:
I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you (NIV).
Matthew 21:31
And examine Jesus’s own words closely.
HE said that the tax collectors and the prostitutes “are” entering the kingdom of God” and didn’t say, “will be” so there is no suggestion of repentance.
Surely decriminalization of prostitution would be good for all concerned except for pimps who inflict violence and extort money, and a percentage of the money not extorted by them would be used for paying taxes which is something that the country is desperately short of right now.
