Another view, which Pereboom calls Hard Incompatibilism, can be positions 1, 4, or 7. Hard Incompatibilism holds that whether determinism is true or not, we do not have free will. Position 8 is Al Mele's position, called

Now you may be asking, “What about free will? Don't we have that?” Absolutely we do! Having choice is what is so fun about being human. But what is not so fun about being human is not having faith that every choice we

Do we really have free will?

So many religious people talk about our lack of free will and tell us that everything is ultimately in God’s hands.

It’s hard for me to buy however, because if I see a knife and fork in front of me (for example) then it’s me that decides which one to pick up.

Isn’t it?

Do You Believe In Coincidences?

Coincidences don't just happen – they are made to happen by your subconscious mind. Science and its Quantum physics in this regard have showed us that at the sub atomic level there is no existence of matter and it is energy that exists everywhere at that level. It also says that the presence of the energy is solely because of the observer which thus proves that mind being the observer is immensely powerful and can do magnificent things. Scientists now belief that

So you should consider coincidences; in fact Tommaso already discussed in some blog posts. So the paper is just this, to report on the existence of this SU(5) symmetry that seems very much as a composite of five quarks.

Is there such a thing as a coincidence!

I have to say right up front that I don’t believe in coincidences.

Well not when the word is deemed to mean, “a chance occurrence” anyway.

I have had so many so called “chance occurrences” occur in my life and they continue to do so, and they are still ongoing.

A simple one, just to give an example.

I used the same coffee mug for 4 years until one morning I broke it and I decided that I’d buy a new one later that morning.

Before going to buy it I decided to stop at a small store similar to a 711 and pick up a few things.

Whilst standing in line a man approached me and asked if I’d like a present and I said ‘Sure’ and he reached into his bag and pulled a coffee mug.

I’d never seen the man before and haven’t seen him since and hadn’t told anybody that I needed to buy a mug.

I was over sixty years old at the time and nobody had ever given me a cup or mug before and this happened within an hour of breaking mine and deciding to buy a new one.

And the man was a complete stranger.

The odds on this happening would be billions to one and I’ve had several similar experiences.

A coincidence? I don’t think so!
