I always understood that you must NEVER put metal in the microwave, and the couple of times that I did it by accident, a loud noise and frightening flashing came from the microwave and I turned it off in a hurry.

However a friend of mine showed me a metal dish, well it sure seems to be metal anyway, and he can use it in his microwave with no problem.

He won’t tell me his secret and says that I should go find out, which is what I’m trying to do right now.

So what’s the secret?

Is he using a special dish, or a special microwave oven?
